Time for Change

Finding a way to move on from the past through photography, writing, art and music

Long time no see!

So much to update on! I’m now at Glasgow University, studying Psychology, Biology and Science Fundamentals. Right now I’m really happy, I’ve discovered what a difference positive thinking can make. Yay! Life is so good, I love doing trampolining, I’ve even won a gold medal! I did really well on my first semester exams, I’m not stressed and my best friend is amazing and makes me so happy all the time :D

Just finished 6 weeks training at my new job. Now a qualified pool lifeguard, level 1 kayak and canoe instructor, mountain board instructor and got first aid at work, health and safety and fire safety. Can deliver loads of sessions to students now :)

Haven’t been on here in a while lol, my last actual written post was when I was starting at KW, hahaha. Well I left that job, on Saturday I’m moving to Cornwall for an instructing job that is better in every way!

David Maisel - Library of Dust (2005-06)

Library of Dust depicts individual copper canisters, each containing the cremated remains of patients from a state-run psychiatric hospital. They have remained unclaimed by their families. The patients died at the hospital between 1883 and the 1970’s.

The (approximately) 3,500 copper canisters are burnished or dull; corrosion blooms wildly from the leaden seams and across the surfaces of many of the cans. The vestiges of paper labels with the names of the dead, the etching of the copper, and the intensely hued colours of the blooming minerals combine to individuate the canisters. Sublimely beautiful, yet disquieting, the enigmatic photographs in Library of Dust are meditations on issues of matter and spirit.

Bought myself an internet dongle today

Most exciting purchase ever! Means I can actually watch films and shizz in the evenings or on days off :).

My apprenticeship is going well mostly :), been trained in so many activities! Get to deliver a session of Leap of Faith on Monday, so excited as will be my first actual session.

I’m pretty much exhausted so I feel like my day off today is well earnt, got myself a haircut, feels goood having less hair, also went to Ryde beach today, the weather on the IOW is amazing, got some ridiculous tan lines from where I’ve been in uniform haha

Yay for tattoos :). Wasn’t actually that painful really, felt like a cat scratching me. In some places didn’t feel it at all
